Powerflushing is the process of flushing out radiators and pipework of all the gunk and sludge that has built up over the years. Think of it as a detox for your central heating system, cleansing in a thorough manner the internals of all pipework, radiators and the boiler system.
Central heating powerflushes are required by building regulations; the Compliance Guide to Part L of the UK Building Regulations for England and Wales requires a central heating system to be cleaned and flushed before a corrosion and scale inhibitor chemical is added during commissioning. It’s also important to do this when an old central heating boiler is being replaced by a new boiler. Many boiler manufacturers now make the warranty dependent on flushing and cleaning in accordance with BS7593, Benchmark and Part L.
If your house pipework is very old and tired there is a very low chance that a leak is possible, as we will be flushing your complete heating systems at high flow rates. If they do leak it is best to have one of our competent plumbers on hand rather then coming home after work one evening to find a flooded house. Prevention is better than cure!
